A Quick Note About Western Hellenistic Astrology
Astrology is an ancient language, and I work with one of its oldest, most sacred dialects. My practice is rooted in Hellenistic Western astrology, the foundation of the tradition as it developed in the Mediterranean world over 2,000 years ago. I use the whole-sign house system, along with traditional planetary rulerships, which means the structure of your chart—and the story it tells—may look different from what you see in popular astrology apps or online chart calculators. These usually default to the Placidus system and modern rulerships. However, as I do with pretty much everything else in my life, I learned the rules of Hellenistic Astrology and now I stretch them a bit. By this I mean, I weave in select modern techniques where they add clarity or relevance, but the backbone of my work is classic mythological astrology. The result is a chart that prioritizes coherence, timing, and lived experience over algorithmic convenience—and yes, it can be a little startling at first, but it’s startling in the way truth often is.

Why does my astrology report take so long to complete?

Because astrology isn’t instant, even if the internet pretends it is. Each report begins with casting your chart, then carefully examining planetary placements, house topics, aspects, timing techniques, and rulerships. From there, I research how those symbols interact specifically in your chart rather than relying on generic interpretations. That process takes time, reflection, and cross-referencing—because accuracy and coherence matter more than speed.
Why is a custom astrology report more expensive than an app or online chart?

Apps generate automated text. I don’t. Your report is written specifically for you, by a human, using your exact birth data and life context. It involves hours of analysis, synthesis, and writing, not copy-paste astrology. I’d rather be thorough, thoughtful, and precise than rush through a chart just to collect payment and move on to the next one.
What do I need to provide for an accurate astrology report?

You’ll need your full birth date, birth location, and—ideally—your exact birth time. Accurate timing allows for precise house placements and more meaningful interpretations. If your birth time is unknown or uncertain, I’ll let you know what can still be explored and what may remain symbolic rather than exact.
What if I don’t know my exact time of birth?

We can still work together—you’re not locked out of astrology. Without a confirmed birth time, I can run a chart using a neutral or estimated time, which allows us to explore planetary signs, aspects, and broader themes. That said, elements that depend on precise timing—like the rising sign, house placements, and key angles (including the North and South Nodes)—become less certain or symbolic rather than exact. As a result, the report will be more general and less tailored to your lived experience. It’s still useful, still insightful, and often a meaningful starting point. Astrology works best when we begin with what we know and build from there, rather than waiting for perfect information that may never arrive.
